This course introduces students to essential concepts in databases and information management, focusing on identifying organizational information needs, modeling data, andimplementing relational databases using industrial-strength DBMSs. Students will learn fundamental database skills, including normalization, data quality, and security, alongside basic administration tasks. The course also explores the integration of artificial intelligence(AI), covering topics such as data mining, machine learning, and intelligent systems that enhance decision support within a business intelligence framework. By leveraging AI, students will understand how DBMSs enable advanced analytics, predictive insights, and automation in data-driven processes.
