The Electrified Vehicle Technology Certificate is designed to prepare students and working technicians for entry-level employment or career advancement in the rapidly evolving field of electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance and repair. With a focus on safety, technical proficiency, and emerging technologies, this five-course certificate program provides hands-on training and theoretical knowledge aligned with industry standards.
Students will gain essential skills in basic automotive systems, electrical fundamentals, vehicle computer systems, and safe servicing of high-voltage electrified vehicles. This program is ideal for individuals with a basic understanding of automotive systems or those seeking to expand their qualifications into electric vehicle (EV) service and repair.
A Certificate of Achievement in Automotive Electric & Hybrid Systems Technician will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the curriculum listed below, with a minimum grade of a "C" (or P) in each course in the certificate and maintains a 2.0 GPA.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
A. Develop safe work habits with the use of automotive service tools and equipment related to high voltage hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
B. Inspect high-voltage hybrid and electric vehicle components and systems for proper operation.
C. Collect automotive service and diagnostic information with the use of computerized tools and resources related to high voltage hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
