Enrollment by audition and interview with the instructor. Instructor signature is required to enroll in the course.
This course provides private individual instruction in voice, piano, wind, or string instruments at a level equivalent to that of a music major in the appropriate term of the their freshman or sophomore year of music studies. It requires one lesson per week with a private instructor approved by the music department faculty. A minimum of 14 weekly lessons must be verified. In addition, this course includes a weekly group workshop detailing various aspects of music performance. A jury examination by the music department faculty is required at the conclusion of the course. This course can be repeated three times and is intended for music majors only. Students enrolled in this course are required to be in at least one ensemble and one theory class concurrently.
