The Certificate in Agricultural Leadership at Merced College offers specialized training to build leadership skills specifically for the agricultural sector. Through a selection of leadership-focused courses, students will develop practical skills in communication, personal development, team leadership, and public relations. This program prepares students for leadership roles within agricultural organizations, educational institutions, and community outreach programs.
The Agricultural Leadership Certificate of Achievement will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the full program option. For successful completion, a student must complete the requirements with a minimum grade of a “C” (or P) in each course with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
A. Demonstrate effective communication and public speaking skills in agricultural contexts, confidently engaging diverse audiences.
B. Analyze and apply leadership theories and personal development strategies within agricultural settings, with a focus on resilience and growth.
C. Develop teamwork and collaborative leadership skills to enhance group dynamics and promote personal and professional growth within agricultural organizations.
D. Serve as an Agricultural Ambassador to promote agricultural awareness, recruit students, and engage the community in educational outreach.
